Shortly after launching the redesign of Flickr iPhone, the team was tasked to build Flickr's first iPad app and to launch in just five months. My role was designing the end to end experience, and I led the designs for Profile, Main navigation, Photo & video capture, Photo editors, Notifications, and Onboarding.
We had a tight timeline to deliver and ship the iPad app, and the designs needed to cater to an iPad viewing experience, while still being consistent with the iPhone app.
To ensure intuitive navigation, I started with information architecture, planning out the edit profile feature, and sketching the user flows before moving into paper prototyping, interactive prototype and visual design.
The designs for the camera were carefully thought through to create the best experience for iPad. The camera lets people take photos, videos, apply live filters, and provide access to powerful photo editing tools. I prototyped the interaction flows and created animations to enhance the overall user experience.
Flickr iPad app was successfully launched in just five months, and available in 12 different languages. It was well received internally, and saw an improvement in app downloads, daily users, and photo uploads.
